spoilers : Converting characters from G8 to G9 and Vice Versa is not easy at all, even with the available add-ons :D !
I used "RSSY Character Converter" To convert my character "Marie" to g9, as for the shape it is fine except for the damaged eyes, I used Zbrush to fix them. The separation between the body and head morphs is very bad and must be fixed manually.
As for the materia, the addition does not transform it, it only adds a shield over g9, which has the same materia as g8, so again I converted it manually using Zbrush.
