Info:
The role of an animatic editor is to bring together the elements of screenwriting and storyboarding to establish tone and rhythm. In this class, we'll walk through the way sound, music and picture editing bring an animated story to life.

The classes will be split into two parts: 1) studying scenes from both live action and animated TV series, movies and short films to help us understand various styles of editing and 2) using the principles we learned from those studies to help us build a completed animatic. Boards will be provided if you don't have your own to work with.

I've spent the past 5 years editing on various projects for DreamWorks Animation, most recently, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts and Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. I'm currently assisting a feature film in development.

Editing software: Adobe Premiere is preferred, as that is what I'll be using, but not required if you'd like to use another software. Premiere is available with the Creative Cloud or $20.99/mo after a 7 day free trial. There are also discounts if you're currently an enrolled student. Follow this link: Premiere Pro.
