These plants thrive in hot, arid environments and require minimal supplemental watering. Most agave species are slow-growing, and some are commonly referred to as "century plants."
The Prickly Pear Cactus, also known as Opuntia, is a genus of flowering plants within the cactus family, Cactaceae. Many species are recognized for their vibrant flowers and edible fruit. Native to the Americas, these cacti are well adapted to dry environments, though they remain susceptible to changes in precipitation and temperature caused by climate change. The plant has also been introduced to regions such as Australia, southern Europe, the Middle East, and northern Africa.
